Tortoises are very territorial, and rely on a strong familiarity with their home range for survival. Transplanting them into the wild in an unfamiliar spot is always risky, and the tortoises don't apprecitate it one bit.

They've been set near a shallow creek where they have access to plants, burrows, sun, shade and clean water. Pretty soon they'll get their bearings, find a hiding spot to call their own, and begin getting to know their new home.
