Happy Holidays from Ernie

It was nearing the holidays in Wolf Hallow and though the Darkmyr family may have not celebrated Christmas, they did celebrate Yule. However regardless of the holiday that anyone celebrated, Demeter thought it would be a wonderful idea to use some of the animals in Christmas cards to sell online, in the gift shop and at Wolf Hallow Shop here in town. She had brought the idea up to her uncles who owned Wolf Hallow Preserve and they had loved her idea, even letting her be in charge of the planning and photography work.
Wolf Hallow Preserve was still fairly new and just starting out, thankfully the Darkmyr family are the founders of Wolf Hallow and have a decent bit of land spread between the family as well as funds. Though they weren't millionaires by any means, but they did have a comfortable amount. Which made starting the preserve easier than starting out with nothing. And though the preserve is a non profit which relies on donations, grants and any money made with tickets, concessions and in the gift shop, any lack of funds is made up by Ares and his brother Perses. Any proceeds they make from the preserve instantly go back into it to help fund Veterinarian care, housing and pretty much everything required to keep the animals.
At the moment the Preserve was rather small compared to their plans. They had the main entrance and parking with the admissions building which also holds the gift shop. You then walk out into an open courtyard with concessions and bathrooms. There is a petting zoo section which at the moment only features a Friesian horse, with plans on adding more as soon as the animals arrive as some have already been purchased. There is also a building which will hold small animals, however only a sole uromastyx lives there until more critters join him.
Walking past all that we enter Crescent Canyon, here there are two styles or sizes of enclosures. First are our smaller, better viewing enclosures, right now only two are occupied. One by a dhole and the other by a fox and wolf hybrid. Next we have some medium sized enclosures, though they are still rather big and you can walk around them, it may just take a few minutes. Here we have; Arctic Canines consisting of an arctic fox and an arctic wolf, African Canines consisting of two bat eared foxes, an african wild dog, a side striped jackal and a black backed jackal. As well as a Dingos exhibit with three of them, a Coyote exhibit which actually has a coywolf hybrid and a coyote in it. We have three maned wolves in our maned wolf exhibit, and lastly in our Ethiopian wolf exhibit we have 4 purebred ethiopian wolves and one mixed ethiopian wolf.
Finally we have our true Crescent Canyon, there is a long fence which acts as the border or end of the preserve and a viewing fences for any wolves that venture close. However the main way to view the wolves here is by train or sometimes in our 4x4 vehicles. In this massive fenced area lives four different species of wolves. We have grey wolves, dire wolves, red wolves and vancouver island wolves here. There is plenty of acres for the packs to thrive as well as an abundance of natural prey supplied by the preserve.
Right now though, Demeter and her german shepherd, Waffles were on their way to the critters building where the uromastyx resided. She had decided she would start with him as her first subject in their holiday cards. Demeter had brought with her a cute tiny santa hat she had taken off an elf and placed it upon Ernie's head, quickly moving back to take a picture before he shook it off. She smiled softly as she got the perfect picture before the hat was gone. She would later add in some writing and a little Christmas tree to the card.
