Welcome to Zoo ARPG! The goal here is to build your very own zoo and focus on what you want to. Be it breeding, conservation, or just art, there's plenty to do here. While mostly semi-realistic, Zoo ARPG may also have the occasional fantasy element, too. There are over 600 animal species to choose from and your first animals are free! So, let's get started.

Joining and Getting Started
1. Our group is hosted on a website! Your first step will be to make an account on Zoo ARPG. Once there, you can set up your profile however you like. Make sure you connect your Zoo ARPG account to your deviantart account for verification! Toyhouse linking is not yet possible but will be in the future. Some things in the group will also require you to be part of our discord, though you will be able to do most things without needing to be on there.
2. Go get your free gift! To have a zoo, you'll need to start out with some animals and a little cash. Go to the Gift Shop and pick up your welcome gift. To open it, navigate to your inventory and click on the item, check the check-box, and use the item. This will open the box to reveal...more boxes (well, animal crates)! And some money. Open your animal crates to find the new members of your zoo. You will also be given a staff member MYO slot if you would like to have humanoid staff members to care for your animals, but this is not required.
3. Create the references for your first animals. Some guidelines for animal design can be found Here. Animals are required to have refs to be pictured in art and therefore to earn you more ZD. The exception to this is conservation animals, but we'll go over that later.

Step 5: Add any needed items to inventory (only if adding traits or contraceptives)

4. Create exhibits and animal folders. Organizing your animals into exhibits will be important for population management. Compatible animals in the same exhibit can breed, so make sure only animals you want to procreate can reach each other! There are no rules for exhibits, so organize them however you wish. Exhibits utilize the character folders on the website.

Step 1: Navigate to "My Characters"

Step 2: Click "Create New Folder"

Step 3: Name your exhibit and add any info you like. This can be changed later.

Step 4: Add your animals to their exhibit

Step 5: You're done! You can rearrange your folders by moving the animals into the order you would like their folders to be.
5. Now you can create art for your animals to earn more ZD, breed your animals, and more!
Creating your Zoo
While this is a Zoo ARPG, you technically do not have to depict your animals as living in a zoo. You don't need zoo staff, you don't need to have them in an existing country, heck you don't even need your animals to be on planet Earth.
You may have your zoo as realistic or fantasy-inspired as you like and there are no restrictions placed on how you play in that manner.
If you choose to have zoo staff and depict them in your art, we do ask that they are animal caretakers that are at least partially humanoid. Bipedal anthros, aliens, centaurs, ect are all okay.
